About the Event

Georgia Traverse: Backroads & Campfires

July 23 - July 27, 2026

Some adventures are about the trails.

This one is about the people.

Back in 2022, Venture Unknown hosted its first Georgia Traverse and it quickly became one of our most memorable adventures. Not because of difficult obstacles or extreme terrain, but because of the friendships that formed around campfires, the laughter heard over the GMRS radios, and the memories made along the way.

Georgia Traverse: Backroads & Campfires 2026 consist of four days of exploring the mountains and backroads of North Georgia. Our route winds through the beautiful forests and mountain communities that make the Georgia Traverse one of the most iconic overland routes in the Southeast.

Expect scenic mountain roads, creek crossings, incredible overlooks, dispersed camping, and nightly campfires surrounded by a community of adventurers who share a passion for exploration.

This isn't a race. It isn't a challenge to see who has the biggest lift or the most accessories.

It's simply an opportunity to slow down, enjoy the journey, and share the experience with great people.

The mountains are calling once again.

Will you answer?

Wheels Up: 9:00 AM SHARP

Our goal is always to arrive at camp before dark but this is an adventure where many things can delay that goal.

Remember: Bring your adventure hat!! It wouldn't be an adventure without challenges.

Rally Camp

Exact rally camp coordinates and arrival instructions will be distributed to registered participants via email closer to the event date.

A private Facebook Messenger chat will also be created approximately one week prior to departure for trip communications and final details.

What we can share for now is camp will be very close to the east end of the Traverse near the SC/GA Stateline.
