Whats the plan??

Chattahoochee River Rd FSR 44 is in dire need of some VUF love. We are calling all those that enjoy doing their part to come on out for this summers big cleanup! Of course we gotta do some camping too or it wouldn't be Venture Unknown... right? We are proud to introduce .....Oscar....a garbage eating trash trailer will make its first appearence for this project !!

Clean Up Info

If joining only for the clean up.... Meet at Chattahoochee National Forest Information Kiosk 34.801640, -83.742871  off of Hwy 75 (Unicoi Turnpike) just north of Helen Ga. @ 10am. Our clean up efforts will go on for approximately 6-8 hours. Enter coordinates straight into Google exactly how they are written here.

Venture Unknown and USFS will conduct a safety briefing and assign a north and south teams . The idea will be to have one team start on the south end of the FSR 44 and another team on the north end and hopefully meet in the middle.

Gloves, Garbage bags, sanitizer, and water will be onsite. If you would like to donate more towards the effort for this and future projects we will be taking donations of these items. Please come prepared with proper footwear and clothing. Bug spray is always a good item to have on hand during Georgia summers. If rain chance gets above 70% we will postpone this clean up event. Emails will be sent out in the case of a rain out.

Camping available

Want to camp with the VU crew Fri and/or Sat night??? We will meet the night before at any time on July 7th at one of our camps off Indian Grave Rd 34.807012, -83.724467 . We also plan to camp after the clean up ride July 8th. We will rally back at our original camp from Fri night. Camaraderie, campfire stories, and a night cap to celebrate a good days work. That's not all.....we all worked hard making Chattahoochee River Road nicer .....well Robert Thomson wants to thank us with a fajita dinner ! That's right! Fajitas for everyone at camp Saturday night! Man whatta a guy!

Communications

Leading up to and during the event will be a Facebook messenger chat will be created. All important info will be emailed out. During the ride we will use GMRS radio CH17 462.600. If you do not have a radio we can loan you one .
