About the Event

Please please please read all the details below BEFORE registering. Stay informed! It is the key to you having a good time and making sure I do not get tons of DMs. Thank you!

Venture Unknown lives for this type of trip! We are convoying across beautiful North Georgia by way of the Georgia Traverse! The Traverse consist of 390 miles of mixed terrain. 226 miles are unpaved and 164 miles of pavement. We will start on the East side of the route and make our way across till we finally get to the Alabama border.

The plan ...

Whos ready for this one???  We will spend 4 days from Thurs to Sunday attempting to complete this awesome route across beautiful North Georgia. In true adventure form we will make this trip full of spontanious fun. We may stop at swim holes, waterfalls, overlooks, or maybe a gas station for ice cream. Where ever the wind blows! We have been looking forward getting the group together for this adventure!!

Below is our itinerary.

Thursday August 11th

Rally Camp 34.955428, -83.150574

We will meet at a camp we call Camp Teeter off Burrels Ford Rd. You may show up anytime on this day. PLEASE NOTE the trail down to camp is a little rough but is totally doable in a stock 4x4.  We will introduce our old friends to our new ones and get a good nights sleep for the long trip ahead. Excitement will be in the air!!

(please note Sean wont be in camp till around 7pm)

Fri August 12th.

We will wake up at appx 7am to cook breakfast and gather around for 830am drivers meeting. Then at appx 9am we will embark from camp and start our journey. We will make our way traversing this awesome route! This is where the adventure begins!! You will experience the Warwoman WMA, Charlies Creek, and all the beauty the Chattahoochee/ Oconee NF has to offer. We will cover as many miles as we can while making our to Friday camp. This camp will be predetermined but still expect a long day of seat time. Friday night we will gather around a nice campfire, talk about the days travel and get to know our adventure friends a little bit more over a nice dinner and maybe sip on some fine bourbon.

Saturday August 13th

We will start our day again at 7am with breakfast and coffee, have another brief drivers meeting at 830am, and hit the trail at 9am. This day should be full of awesome beauty as we make our way into the Cohutta NF. Then another fine summer night at camp under the stars.

Sunday August 14th

Its the final push!!!! Lets wake up one last morning in the woods and get ready to finish this thing! We all stink by now!! Lets be sure to enjoy this last stretch and not think about Monday too much. We will gather one last time but this time its not a drivers meeting....its our Gratitude circle. You'll see.

Rig requirments:

This route is a stock friendly ride. The terrian is a mix of gravel, pavement, and a lil mud. There are creek crossings but none are too deep to be of any concern. It is good practice to always be prepared for a recovery by carrying minimal gear ( strap, shackles). If you dont have these items no worries there will be plenty of support from my team there to help in any situation. All terrian tires are also recommended but not required.  We will probably air down a lil for comfort on some of the gravel roads. If you dont have a compressor we will air you back up before you head home.

Communication

Communication on the trail is essential to a good and safe time. If you dont have one and need recommendations please feel free to ask. I personally recommend the Midland MXT1000 handhelds or any Midland hardmount radios.

Cost

We have decide not to have a ride fee for this ride. We still will have event stickers made up for yall. If you guys would like to donate ANY amount to our mission then I will leave that up to yall. It would be much appreciated but not required. Our Venmo is @ventureunknown or we will have a donation bucket with us. We are trying to get funds together for our stewardship events, equipment for our VU movie nights, and we are trying to copyright/trademark our logo. The lawyer is Appx $2000. Thank you to all who support our mission!!

Max rig count

In line with us trying to make less impact to the trails, camps, and to others not on our ride we may encounter on the trail we must cap this ride at 15 rigs.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

-Bring your adventerous spirit (it is a must) We may have detours, breakdowns, and whatever else God wants to throw at us. Patience and attitude is what gets us thru this adversties.

-Be sure to review Venture Unknown code of conduct below

-Be on time to drivers meetings

-Stay informed

-Event chat will be created a week prior tio the ride. We have this to help answer questions and get info out. Its also fun! If there is a poll added to that chat please participate so I can make fair decisions on certain things.

-Please help support VU by sharing your adventure on the page

-Be prepared for all types of weather. This is a rain or shine adventure.

-Come to rally camp topped of with fuel. This one is important. We all need to be on the same fuel cycle.

-Only shared coordinates of camps will be Thurs night rally camp. This is on purpose.

- It is a good idea to bring plenty of snacks that can be eaten while on the go.

- Each night will be spent in dispersed camping spots (in the wild) There isnt any water or electricity at any camp.

-If the info you need is not in these details do not hesitate to message me.

PLEASE READ
