About the Event
Gooood day Venture Unknown!
THIS REGISTRATION IS FOR THE LOTTERY CONTEST ONLY
It is essential to read the new way registration will work for this event below.
Due to over 80 people selecting going on this event. We have decided to run a lottery for the people who would like to attend. This is the better, more fair way of allowing everyone a chance to come on this trip. I've said it before THANK YALL for even caring to come and being willing to put up with this process. We hope you will understand.
#1 Read ALL details to ensure this is the ride for you, your family, and your rig. BEFORE entering the drawing.
#2 Registration is now open on this website for THE LOTTERY DRAWING ONLY. It is important to fill out the registration in its entirety (email, phone #) so we can make this process as efficient as possible and have contact info for you. ONLY ONE REGISTRATION NEEDED
#3 On Sept 2nd @7PM lottery registration will close and we will throw all names into a randomizer.
#4 On Sept 3rd @7pm we will share our screen of that random drawing on the FB page for transparency.
#5 We will run this until we have 10 names entered from this registration.
#6 We will then reach out to the 10 random picked winners and formally invite you to this ride. We will do this using the email you used to register or thru (messenger, text, FB) in hopes for you to confirm your RSVP and still want to attend.
#7 Once contact is attempted you will have 24 hours from time of drawing (Sept 4th 7pm) to confirm or deny your RSVP.
#8 If we do not have confirmation from all 10 invites by Sept 4th @7pm We will rerun the randomizer and repeat the process. At that time the remaining unclaimed spots will be filled by the new names picked in the drawing and those new names will have till Sept 5th @7pm to confirm or deny RSVP.
NOTE we will not repeat this process again due to time constraints.
#9 Once contact is made and you confirm your RSVP. Go head over to the website and register for the ride.
In the event people cancel at the last minute we will open invites up on a first come first serve basis.
PLEASE NOTE we are simply trying our best to make this fair and to run this process to the best of our ability but in no way are we implying some sort of guarantee.
***It is required to read all details for this event.
Lake Jocassee is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Southeast. Its pristine waters are fed by numerous waterfalls and is rich in history! It's also home to some pretty awesome trails. Both hiking and wheeling.
Musterground, Horsepasture, Dawkins Flat, Auger Hole, Chestnut Mountain.... Just to name a few. My favorite waterfall is in the area.. Rainbow Falls! It's a moderate 2 mile in and out trail that takes you to see one of the most powerful waterfalls in the area! It does not disappoint and we will go see it! One of my absolute favorite campsites is down on the Horsepasture River! We have camped and wheeled here many times! Last year was a nice relaxing time with the Venture Unknown crew. And guess what...?? We are going back! We try and keep our trips diverse. Not everyone is on 35s and is trying to rip mufflers out from their rig. So we try and mix it up with a good ol camping trip! Much different from the up at 7am overland for 14 hours type trip we're also known for. This trip is absolutely stock 4x4 friendly. It still has some nice wheeling tho. This time there will be a recovery workshop at camp.
********* ITINERARY ********
PLEASE NOTE this is a base camp type adventure. We will set camp explore and come back to the same camp.
Friday afternoon/evening at appx 5pm. We all will start to roll into camp (coordinates below), get set up, enjoy the night with a nice fire and good company.
Saturday morning- After a good breakfast and maybe a swim, we will head out to explore the Gorges. Might even make our way over to the awe inspiring Jumping Off Rock. We will try and cover as many trails as we can before dusk.
Saturday night - Once back at camp we will share a lil bourbon, stories, and enjoy life under the stars.
Sunday- We will wake up, drink coffee, be grateful for waking up in the wilderness. After breakfast we will pack up and make our way to explore more or maybe even hike up to the stunning Rainbow Falls. Sunday afternoon we all will wrap up the weekend with hugs, see ya next time, and head homeward.
We only ask for donations for this ride. We have several projects that we need help funding. It helps us tremendously when we all pitch in and work together.
There will be an opportunity for cash donations at camp.
This is NOT required but much appreciated.
