Venture Unknown presents........
Sweep up the Southeast
We believe in the Treadlightly principle "Do your part" So the VU Team has put together 7 stewardship teams that will embark on 5 states across the Southeast.
The goal?
Restore some of our most treasured camps, forest roads and waterways across the Southeast back to their natural state of beauty.
The idea??
To divide and conquer 7 VU teams across 5 states with as many VU members in each team that we can handle picking up as much trash as possible in one single day. Do you wanna join a team and make a difference?
The plan?
First pick a team/area that is relatively close to you. There will be 5 separate events for this effort. Make sure you join the right one. Please due to limited space do your best to commit if choosing to go. These teams will have an Appx max rig count of 10. Reason being is we also plan to camp and camps are limited in size. Plus the team captains need to manage the ride efficiently. If you end up not being able to attend please let your ride captain know.

Rig Requirements
-**please note** there are never any guarantees that body damage or break downs may not occur. We strive to work together and make logical decisions to treat every rig as if it was our own. That being said ALL RIDES ARE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
-Stock 4x4 friendly
-Most of the terrain we will encounter is gravel forest roads
-We will be crossing Warwoman Creek to get to Earls Ford. This is appx a 100 yard, 2.5 ft deep river crossing. It has been done many times with stock 4x4s.
-Bring your GMRS radio. If you don't have one we recommend either the handheld Midland MXT1000 or any of the MXT series hard mounts from Midland. (if you do not have a radio, we will do our best to loan you one.
********IMPORTANT******
***IF YOU THINK YOU MAY HAVE A TRUCK BED OR SMALL TRAILER TO HELP TAKE TRASH TO A CONVENIENCE CENTER PLEASE LET US KNOW. OTHERWISE EVERYONE WILL NEED THE ABILITY TO HAUL A MINIMUM OF ONE LARGE TRASH BAG OUT PER RIG**
It is possible thru donations or grants that we may be able to compensate those who go out of their way to help haul trash to its proper place.
***Help us become better ***
We are in search of sponsors/donations for these events. We need to purchase/build a trail trailer that is purpose built for hauling trash off the trails. The last one we borrowed ended up in a couple pieces once we drug it down Hurricane Creek. If you or anyone you know would like to sponsor our efforts please email us at ventureunknown4x4@gmail.com or donate to our Venmo @venturexunknown. Thank you so much!
